GoByBike Week is Coming to UBCO this Fall — Here’s How to Get Involved
UBCO is joining in on the Fall GoByBike Week September 19 – 25. This is a seasonal celebration of cycling as a healthy, affordable and sustainable way to get around. As part of the GoByBike BC provincial campaign, every ride you log contributes to Kelowna’s community total.
This year we’re hosting:
Student lock swap
Tuesday September 22 |11am – 2pm | UNC Foyer
Current UBC Okanagan Students can trade in an unsecure, old or weak bike lock for a free new U-Lock*.
*Available while supplies last. Bring your old lock and UBC Student Card to the swap.
UBCO Bike Fair
Wednesday September 23 | 10am – 2pm | Central Courtyard
Arrive by bike and grab a coffee on us. We’ll have free bike checks and tune-ups by McGee Cycles and campus and community partners such as Sustainability Office, Campus Security, BikeWays, Kelowna Mountain Riders, and Lime.
Bike Maintenance Workshop
Thursday September 24 | 11am – 1pm | ASC Courtyard
Learn basic bike repairs or ask a question from a bike mechanic from McGee Cycles during this hands-on bike maintenance workshop and demonstration. Bring your own bike with you and it may be used for a demo (plus get some quick fixes). Two sessions* available 11am-12pm and 12pm-1pm, although drop-in’s anytime are welcome.
*Please RSVP in advance if can to help us plan for catering (coffee and light snacks will be provided).
