Carsharing
Carsharing offers affordable access to a vehicle when you need one, without the ongoing costs of ownership. It’s ideal for occasional drivers and supports more sustainable travel choices by reducing the need for private vehicles.

UBC Okanagan Carshare Program
UBC Okanagan has partnered Modo to provide convenient carsharing for the UBC Okanagan campus. The intent of this program is to provide an incentive for students living in residence on campus to use sustainable transportation options and to reduce the number of single occupancy vehicles driving to/from and parking on campus.
Modo Community Passes for Students living in Residence
This program provides a limited number of Community Passes to students living in residence, which allow Community Pass Users to access Modo vehicles at Modo’s lowest rates without having to pay a membership fee.
Access to Community Passes will be available for up to one year, as a trial membership to allow new users to access the carshare program.
Complete the UBCO Carshare Program Application by January 9, 2026.
Limited Community Passes are available through August 2026 and eligible participants will be randomly selected.
Check that you meet Modo’s Eligibility Requirements, which include being 19 years of age or older, having a N License or better (or equivalent), and having a clean driving record in the last two years.
Have a license from outside of BC? You can still join Modo if you meet their eligibility requirements!
You must be a current UBCO student living in residence on campus to be eligible for a Modo Community Pass.
Verification of eligibility and selection of participants is coordinated by UBCO Student Housing & Community Services.
