Development Applications and Approvals
Learn more about planning and development at UBC Okanagan, from requirements and procedures to processing applications for all development and site work on campus—including approvals for outdoor research and land use.
Through this development review process, we issue the required campus approvals to UBC’s faculty, facilities and infrastructure staff, industry professionals and consultants.
This process supplements and is in addition to any City of Kelowna permits and approvals that may be required.
Development Approvals
Required for all new buildings, additions and substantive exterior projects, including outdoor research, landscaping and permanent signage.
Street and Landscape Approvals
Proposed changes to a street, landscape or below- and above-grade infrastructure require a Street and Landscape Approval.
Exterior/Building Sign Approvals
All proposed permanent exterior and wayfinding signs require Sign Approval from Campus Planning.
Ride-hailing Permits
Transportation Network Service companies are required to secure a permit from UBC and agree to the associated terms and conditions.
