Cycling is an enjoyable way to travel to, from, and around the UBC Okanagan campus.

Not only is it inexpensive and healthy, but a variety of cycling routes for all ages and abilities also make biking a practical alternative to driving.

• The Okanagan Rail Trail is a fully separate path connecting the Kelowna Airport to the north and downtown to the south
• The multi-use trail along John Hindle Drive connects to Glenmore Road to the west
• The Acland Road / Bulman Road / Highway 97 underpass connects to Rutland to the east

Biking on Campus

Cycling on campus is made easy with bike lanes along UBC Okanagan roadways and ample bike racks, lockers, and end-of-trip facilities conveniently located throughout. As the campus continues to grow and more people choose to bike, the university remains committed to expanding bike parking infrastructure.

Bike Racks and Lockers

Bike rack and outdoor bike storage locker locations can be found on UBC Okanagan’s online campus map.

• Bike racks are located outside most campus academic buildings and residences. Avoid parking in areas other than bike racks, as your bike could be removed without warning and at your own risk and expense.
• Lockers are available on a first come, first serve basis. You can find out more information about how to get access to a bike locker from the UBC Okanagan Parking website.

End-of-Trip Facilities

Showers and change rooms are available in many campus buildings, with most offering public access. For facilities that require salto access (FOB), arrangements can be made by contacting Campus Security.
