Try an E-Bike Program
Looking for a healthy and sustainable way to get around while saving time on your commute? Try an e-bike!

Program Information
UBC Okanagan has partnered with Mountain Lifestyle to offer UBC staff and faculty the opportunity to try an e-bike for free for a full week.
How it works
Free e-bike trials are available to all eligible staff and faculty and can be booked between May 1 and August 31 for a duration of seven days. A credit card must be kept on file with Mountain Lifestyle during the trial period to cover potential damage or theft.
Eligible participants include current UBC Okanagan staff and faculty aged 19 or older at the time of participation.
Participants may only receive one (1) free trial every five (5) years.
- Review the program details and eligibility requirements.
- Complete the online application form using the button below.
- Submit your application by July 31, 2026.
Eligibility will be verified before a free trial week is offered.
Once all trial spots are filled, any additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
Selected participants will be notified by email or phone, and will have two (2) weeks to complete the Liability Waiver and Liability Agreement.
If a selected participant does not complete their registration, the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist, if applicable.
Registered participants must book their free trial within two (2) weeks of completing registration.
Trials are available between May and the end of August, subject to availability.
If a trial is not booked within two (2) weeks, the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist, if applicable.

Liability and Responsibility
You are responsible for properly locking the trial e-bike to prevent theft
As a program participant, the following steps must be done every time you lock and leave the e-bike:
- Lock the e-bike to an immovable object using the lock provided
- Park the e-bike in a secure, dry, and indoor location overnight
- Remove the battery when leaving the e-bike locked
- Take a photograph showing that the e-bike is securely locked according to these guidelines
If your trial e-bike is stolen, you must report the theft to Mountain Lifestyle within 24 hours
If you have followed all locking steps above, you qualify for the reduced liability protection for the UBCO Try an E-Bike Program.
- In this case, the cost is $500 per e-bike and $250 per lockable removable battery.
- Participants are also responsible for the cost of accessories such as keys and chargers if stolen or damaged.
- For more details, and for the procedure in the event of theft, please refer to the UBCO Try an E-Bike Participant Guide.
